Hi All,
The System Variable "UCSFOLLOW" is set to 1 when you click the "Update view to Plan when UCS is changed" checkbox in the Settings Tab of the UCS dialog Box in AutoCAD LT 2007. This setting defaults to 0 when you exit and re-enter the drawing. How can I maintain the setting upon exit so that I don't have to change it every time I enter a drawing? It's extremely annoying that I have to set it every time on a particular project where I have to set up a number of user UCS's to suit the building geometry. |

Are you saying that you WANT your vport displays to change every time you change co-ordinate system?
Anyway, once you have changed the setting (once for mspace and once through each pspace vport) it should be saved in the drawing but, in pspace, acad assumes that you don't want the views to change. Mind you, perhaps 2007LT is different from earlier versions in this.

I just noticed the same problem with the UCSFOLLOW system variable always re-setting to 0 when you re-open a drawing. Yes, very annoying. I just upgraded from LT 2005 and in that version, the UCSFOLLOW system variable for model space was saved for each drawing file.
What I did was make custom buttons for different UCS settings (based on the geometry of buildings I am working on right now). The script would look something like this (for a 10 degree clockwise rotation): ^C^C_UCSFOLLOW;1;UCS;Z;10; It would be better to be able to change the default system variable, but I don't know how to do that. Any know how to change default system variables on LT 2007?? |
